Would you like to Join the Beavers?
WE have allocated ALL spaces available for our Beavers group as part of 1V Scouts. If your child is aged at least six years, and is under the age of eight – you can join a waiting list for September 2017. We have had an unprecedented interest in the current year.
The sessions take place between 10-11am on most Saturdays during term time. The cost is £2.50 per session. And you are requested to purchase a Beavers jumper when joining. For further information and to register your interest for September 2017 please contact Nisbah Hussain: 07921 020838. The Beaver colony was the first of the 1V Scouts to be launched in February 2014.
Beavers Launch Annual Dinner 2015
The 1V Beaver Scouts launched the One Voice Annual Dinner 2015 with a heart warming presentation to begin proceedings. A number of the Beavers took to the stage to re-count some of the many adventures they have enjoyed over the previous year. In February 2016 the Beavers were also involved in the annual dinner showcasing their work.
1V Scouts Up and Running
One Voice launched a Scout group in February 2014. The 1V Scouts initially launched a Beaver colony, aiming to attract 6-8 year olds to the weekly session at Brookhouse Primary School in Blackburn, with a cubs group was launched in February 2015.
The group was officially launched by the leader of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Kate Hollern.
Whilst there are currently numerous other Beaver colonies in the town, the 1V Scouts group will be holding an hour long session on Saturday mornings. We are focusing on getting young people from the Brookhouse and Bastwell communities involved in these groups. The sessions will include a variety of activities, from team building exercises to exploring the great outdoors. Our aim for this initiative is to get young people to engage with others, providing them with vital personal life skills, building their confidence and sense of pride in their community. We hope this will culminate in the Beavers then doing the same in their own communities.
All of these sessions will be run by our trained volunteers so that everyone in the group can have the best possible experience.
Inspire & Engage our younger generation
The Scouting movement is one of the largest organisations in the world with over 28 million members worldwide. There are also numerous well known celebrities who have been through Scouting – Barack Obama, Richard Branson and David Beckham to name just a few!
Scouting has a vision of fun, friendship and adventure for all and we’re able to offer that to children as young as 6. You’ll be learning new skills as you work towards badges, making new friends and having fun as you do all of this!
